1. What is a quality teacher?

A quality teacher leads by action and example. Someone who student’s can look up to as a role model, because they are paying close attention even if it does not seem like it. A quality teacher is selfless and puts the needs of others before their own. It is someone who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure that a student feels cared for. A quality teacher is always looking for opportunities to grow and learn. This teacher watches student progress closely and is with them every step of the way.

2. What is quality teaching?

Quality teaching is recognizing that every student learns differently. It is creating a lesson plan that incorporates different learning styles. Quality teaching is speaking with enthusiasm for the subject matter. It is finding new and creative ways for students to understand the material. It is assessing the needs of a classroom full of students and prioritizing the solutions. Quality teaching proves that extra work and energy is worth the amount of lives that can be positively affected.

  1. Thanks for setting up your bPortfolio. It should be formally reviewed in the next few weeks to confirm its organization. Thanks, too, for answering the two initial questions. I agree that we need to recognize that students learn differently. I look forward to working with you this year as we explore our answers to these questions in greater detail.
